| Max & Joan joining in 50th anniversary celebrations of Max's Open win that was held at Nailcote Hall in August 2001. Thanks to Mike Rees for providing these |
Very precious to me, this is a scan of a note that Max wrote me for my 24th birthday in July 1993 using one of the many
nicknames he and I had for him! Note the shaky writing caused by his "familial tremors" that he'd had for years. |
Max being presented with his OBE by HRH Prince Charles for his services to golf in 2001 - an emotional time for the family. I do not know who took these images to be able to credit them. |

| Max and Peter Allis, July 27 1952, the photo hangs in Bridport Golf Club to this day |
Max having a cup of "Rosie Lee" (what he used to call tea!) taken at my house during my husband, Pete's, 50th birthday party. |
Max's "Cherry 'At" (what he used to call cats) - this cat loved him and would follow him everywhere! |
Are you a journalist? Have you got any photos of Max? Do send them and I'll obviously give you credit... |
